I am glad to note that Delhi Labour Welfare Board, Govt. of NCT, Delhi under the Chairmanship of Shri Sukhbir Sharma, has launched a Mobile Rescue & Rehabilitation Service (MRRS) in the capital city of Delhi for the welfare of the sick, disabled, displaced, terminally ill, homeless, abandoned, mentally ill and deserted migratory labourers of unorganized sector who suffer various types of exploitation and survive on the street under sub-human conditions and difficult circumstances.

The wide range of activities starting from Rescue, Shelter, Institutional Care & Support, Livelihood, and Rehabilitation to Repatriation and Restoration to their families is a well-meaning step. The partnership of Delhi Legal Services Authority in this programme has benefitted destitute and the most vulnerable women and children.

The training programme for Rescue Volunteers and the sensitization programme for the citizens, law enforcement agencies is a significant step towards the welfare of the poorest of the poor sections of the society.
